sometimes i google myself just so i can laugh at this reaction to a story i wrote in 2005. i love how the commenter says i want to show “what a very, very sexy feminist” i am. “obviously,” confirms jon, whose commitment to bragging is almost political.
but my real favorite part is when she accuses me of being into strippers, which is not true, though jeanne once told me i dress like a prostitute and that she meant it “as a compliment.” she has since ratcheted this down to “high femme.”
(ps. in case anyone clicks through to the story: my use of the word “impersonation” is all wrong, but i didn’t know any better 6 years ago. shameful.)

i love this shirt, which is here.
i also love the hashtags “#women martyred by martyred beatles” and “#i love yoko though.”
yoko performed at columbia the other night but jon was slightly less enthusiastic about seeing her than he was this time last year. i can accept that.

I really like to look at this photo and imagine the sort of compliments Meridel LeSueur, Adrienne Rich, and Audre Lorde exchanged about their respective accessories. There are so many good necklaces in this picture! And applique!
